You need a trained professional to carry out quality assurance work effectively. As well as a first-class honours degree in English Language and Literature (Queen Mary, University of London), I'm fully qualified in digital editorial work. My qualifications and CPD training include: Proofreading (Publishing Training Centre), Web Editing (Society for Editors and Proofreaders), Digital Proofreading (PTC), Copy-editing (London School of Publishing), Practical mark-up of PDFs (SfEP) and Grammar at Work (PTC, with Oxford University Press).
I'm a Professional Member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP), which is the authority for proofreading and editorial qualifications in the UK. The SfEP upholds the highest quality standards in the publishing industry.
And when I'm not carrying out forensics for businesses? I've run social media campaigns for John D Gorilla Books and Horsley Community Shop. I sail competitively, racing a Bembridge One Design keelboat. I'm also a keen rider, and I volunteer as a leader and side-walker with Riding for the Disabled.
Luckily for me, I'm based in the beautiful Cotswolds, near Stroud in Gloucestershire, and thanks to zinging fibre my clients are worldwide.
